This group covers the businesses that sit next to a cafe or serve the same customers: coffee equipment and kitchen supply stores that sell espresso machines and grinders, bookstores with a coffee counter, coworking spaces with member coffee and day passes, grocery and convenience stores, full-service restaurants, bars and pubs, and hotels whose lobby cafe is open to the public. Supermarkets and warehouse clubs sell whole-bean and ground coffee at the lowest prices, while roasters and specialty stores carry fresher, single-origin beans. Coworking spaces charge by the day or month and generally include coffee, Wi-Fi and printing; bookstore cafes are quieter than chains and welcome long stays.

Conclusion: A dungeon with plenty of loot β€” but the merchant definitely knows what his PokΓ©mon cards are worth. Metro Entertainment has a huge selection and there’s a lot to discover. If you enjoy digging through cards or comics and hunting for something interesting, you can easily spend quite some time here. The downside: many of the PokΓ©mon cards were priced faaaar above typical market value. So the Perception Check should happen before the wallet leaves your inventory. Great selection and fun to browse, but better prices would have earned the fifth star.

Definitely best place in downtown Santa Barbara for comics and Pokemon cards (and other trading cards) including sealed packs and raw and graded singles. Fun selection of board games and other cool nerdy stuff.

Great selection, customer service is lacking but we got what we needed. Will certainly be back because we saw a few other items we want but don’t expect these people to help you, one man just sits on his computer by the front door and the lady who rings people up seeks very lethargic.

I came in to have my PokΓ©mon card collection appraised β€” a large binder spanning multiple generations including vintage base set cards, GX/V era, and newer Paldea pulls. The appraisal took three days, which I understood. My concern is with how the sale was handled. I was called the evening before pickup and given an offer of $300 for the entire collection. When I arrived the next morning and had second thoughts, I asked twice if I could have my cards back. I was told they were already in processing and that I had agreed to the price over the phone. I felt pressured to go through with the sale despite my hesitation. After pushing back in person I was offered $350 total. For a collection of this size and depth, with cards that individually could exceed that amount, I feel the valuation was significantly low and the situation made it difficult for me to walk away. I want to be fair β€” the staff were not rude, and I understand stores need margins to resell. But if you are considering selling your collection here, I would strongly recommend getting an independent appraisal first, having a firm minimum price in mind before you go in, and knowing that once cards are dropped off it may b
